Unfair. 92.

£1,600.00

Softcover, 44 x 32 cm. Edition of 5000. Printed by Druckerei Frank, Aachen, with lithography and layout by Jürgen Kostka. 32pp.

Large-format catalogue for the 1992 edition of ‘Unfair’, the alternative art fair held in Cologne in November 1992. Showcasing the programmes of twenty-eight international galleries, the fair was founded as an alternative to then staid Art Cologne, and included presentations from galleries like Jay Jopling (later White Cube), Maureen Paley, Christian Nagel, American Fine Arts, Pat Hearn and Karsten Schubert. The catalogue is fully-illustrated, with each participant contributing an illustrated spread on their booth. The fair included some now legendary projects, including Damien Hirst’s Ingo, Torsten, in which identical twins sat in front of his spot paintings, as well as an early project by Wolfgang Tillmans, in which he debuted his binder- clip method of displaying his photographs.
